GetResponse review 2026: real pricing, features and an honest verdict

Most GetResponse reviews you’ll find online reuse a pricing grid that no longer exists: the Standard, Plus and Professional plans have disappeared from the official pricing page. I took the current grid, checked on October 17, 2026, and ran it through the filter of one specific need: an English-speaking solopreneur who wants to know what they will really pay, and for which features.

One transparency note before we start: I have not tested GetResponse in real conditions, unlike Brevo or Kit (ConvertKit) whose hands-on reviews are on this site. This article is therefore a fully owned documentary analysis: every figure comes from the official pricing page, checked and dated. No fake hands-on, no invented testimonial.

GetResponse in 30 seconds: the verdict

  • A redesigned grid in 2026: Starter at $19/month ($15.58 on annual), Marketer at $59/month ($48.38), Creator at $69/month ($56.58) for 1,000 contacts, with -18% on annual billing.
  • Sends are unlimited on all paid plans: you pay for the size of your list, not the volume of emails sent.
  • Built-in webinars start at the Creator plan at $69/month: it is GetResponse’s signature feature, but it is not in the entry tier.
  • No more free plan displayed: the pricing page now only offers a 14-day premium trial, unlike Brevo and Kit which both keep a free plan.

My analytical verdict: GetResponse remains the only major player that natively bundles webinars, conversion funnels and course creation into an email marketing platform. For a course creator who wants everything in one place, it is a positioning that neither Brevo nor Kit replicates exactly. But the entry tier at $19/month for 1,000 contacts costs more than twice Brevo’s Starter, and the absence of a free plan makes starting out less forgiving than with the competition.

Want to test it for 14 days? GetResponse’s premium trial is free with no commitment.

What exactly is GetResponse?

GetResponse is a Polish email marketing platform founded in 1999, now positioned as a full marketing suite. The site claims more than 350,000 customer businesses worldwide. The platform covers four major areas:

  • Email marketing: newsletters, autoresponders, welcome series, AI content generators to write email subjects and bodies.
  • Marketing automation: visual workflows, advanced segmentation, abandoned cart recovery, unlimited web push notifications on the mid-tier plans.
  • Conversion funnels: landing pages, forms, popups, and the famous conversion funnels that chain a capture page, emails and the sale in a single flow.
  • Content monetization: live webinars, website builder, course creation with student management and paid newsletters.

It is this last area that sets GetResponse apart. While Brevo bets on the email + CRM pair and Kit on the creator newsletter, GetResponse has built an all-in-one offer designed to sell online knowledge.

GetResponse pricing in 2026: the real plan grid

Here is the current grid taken from the official pricing page on October 17, 2026, for a list of 1,000 contacts, on monthly then annual billing:

PlanMonthly priceAnnual price (-18%)What to remember
Starter$19/month$15.58/monthUnlimited sends, AI generators, welcome series, 1 automation workflow, landing pages, forms
Marketer$59/month$48.38/monthUnlimited workflows, advanced segmentation, abandoned cart, funnels, promo codes and revenue reports, unlimited web push
Creator$69/month$56.58/monthEverything in Marketer + webinars, site builder, course creation, 500 students, premium newsletters
EnterpriseOn quoteOn quoteDedicated sending IP and domain, SSO, SMS, mobile push, AI product recommendations, transactional emails, priority support

Three watch-outs on this grid:

  • The names have changed. The historical Standard, Plus and Professional plans no longer appear on the pricing page. If you read a review citing those grids, it is dated.
  • The price climbs with list size. The amounts above apply to 1,000 contacts; the official page’s slider pushes the bill up at each tier. At equal list size, GetResponse clearly positions itself above Brevo and Kit.
  • The annual discount is 18%, applied automatically. Over a year, the Starter plan comes to about $187 instead of $228.

Has the free plan disappeared?

On the official pricing page checked on October 17, 2026, no permanent free plan is offered: only a 14-day premium trial with access to all features. GetResponse has offered a limited free plan in the past, but it no longer appears in the current grid. Concretely, you test everything for two weeks, then you have to pay. It is a world away from Brevo’s philosophy, which keeps a durable free tier at 300 emails per day, or Kit, whose Newsletter plan remains usable without paying.

GetResponse’s real strengths

Built-in webinars, the signature weapon

GetResponse is the only mainstream email marketing player to bundle a live webinar module. On the Creator plan, you can run live sessions, couple them with email sequences and turn attendees into customers without any external tool. For anyone selling courses or consulting, it is a killer argument: an equivalent stack elsewhere means Zoom or Webex + an email tool + glue in between.

Conversion funnels built to sell

Where most tools chain email automations, GetResponse builds complete funnels: landing page, form, nurturing sequence, sales page. The Marketer plan adds abandoned cart recovery, promo codes and revenue reports per campaign. The official page highlights advanced automations generating measurable sales for e-commerce customers, with the details in its published case studies.

Native generative AI

AI content generators are included from the Starter plan up: writing email subject lines, newsletter bodies, and visual creation. It is not an exclusive argument in 2026, almost every platform offers one, but GetResponse ships it from the entry tier rather than reserving it for higher plans.

Unlimited sends everywhere

All plans display unlimited email sends: you pay for contact storage, not for emails sent. For an engaged list you write to often, this logic is more predictable than billing by sent volume, the way Brevo does with its monthly quotas.

The limits, no sugarcoating

  • The entry tier is expensive. $19/month for 1,000 contacts with a single automation workflow is twice Brevo’s Starter at $9/month (USD), which already includes the essentials. GetResponse’s first real automation tier is the Marketer at $59/month.
  • No permanent free plan displayed. The 14-day trial replaces the free tier: as soon as the trial ends, the bill starts.
  • Webinars cost $69/month. The signature feature is only available on the Creator plan, which puts the real ticket for a trainer well above the entry tier.
  • I have not tested the tool. This review rests on the official documentation and public feedback, not on an account created for the occasion. For a verdict in real conditions, read my full Brevo review or my Kit trial, two tools I have used myself.

GetResponse vs Brevo vs Kit: the factual match

This site has tested Brevo and Kit (ConvertKit) in depth. Here is how the three tools position themselves, with the figures taken from their respective pricing pages:

CriterionGetResponseBrevoKit (ConvertKit)
Free planNot displayed in 2026Yes, 300 emails/dayYes, Newsletter plan
Entry tier$19/month (1,000 contacts)$9/month USD (500 contacts)$29/month (1,000 subscribers)
BillingBy list size, unlimited sendsBy sent email volumeBy subscriber count
Automation from entry tier1 workflow (Starter)Multi-step on the Standard plan ($18)Full visual from Creator up
Built-in webinarsYes, Creator plan ($69)NonNon
Built-in CRMNo (marketing positioning)Yes, pipeline includedNon
Digital product salesFunnel + courses (Creator)Rather on the CRM sideCore of the Creator plan
PositioningAll-in-one marketing suiteEuropean email + CRMCreator newsletter and monetization

What this table says in plain terms: GetResponse wins on breadth (webinars, courses, funnels only exist at competitors by stacking tools), Brevo wins on price and CRM, Kit wins on simplicity for selling digital products to a small list. If your need is sending a newsletter and selling an ebook, Kit or Brevo are more than enough and cost less. If you run sales webinars and want everything centralized, GetResponse justifies itself despite its higher ticket. To dig into both competitors, read my Brevo review and my hands-on with Kit ConvertKit: I detail the exact limits of each plan.

To structure your sequences whichever tool you choose, I also wrote a guide on how to automate a solopreneur’s email marketing: the method stays the same, only the platform changes.

Who GetResponse is for (and who it isn’t)

GetResponse is for you if:

  • You sell courses, consulting or services and live webinars are at the heart of your acquisition.
  • You run e-commerce and want abandoned cart, promo codes and revenue reports in the same tool as your newsletters.
  • You want a single platform instead of stacking email marketing + landing pages + webinars + a membership area.

Move along if:

  • You are starting on a tight budget: Brevo’s free plan + $9 Starter pair is gentler on a launch wallet.
  • Your game is the newsletter with direct monetization: Kit does that better and cheaper from $29/month.
  • You need a CRM: GetResponse does not offer one, Brevo does.

Frequently asked questions about GetResponse

How much does GetResponse cost in 2026?

For 1,000 contacts: Starter at $19/month ($15.58 on annual), Marketer at $59/month ($48.38), Creator at $69/month ($56.58), Enterprise on quote. All plans include unlimited email sends and annual billing saves 18%. Checked on the official pricing page on October 17, 2026.

Does GetResponse have a free plan?

The current pricing page does not offer a permanent free plan, only a 14-day premium trial with access to all features. The historical free plan no longer appears in the 2026 grid. For durable free usage, Brevo (300 emails/day) and Kit (Newsletter plan) are more generous alternatives.

Do the old Standard, Plus and Professional plans still exist?

No. The grid displayed in October 2026 consists of the Starter, Marketer, Creator and Enterprise plans. Reviews that still cite Standard/Plus/Professional rely on an outdated pricing grid.

Is GetResponse better than Brevo?

It depends on the need. GetResponse bundles webinars, courses and funnels that Brevo does not have, but the entry tier costs twice as much ($19 versus $9/month USD) and there is no CRM and no free plan. For email + CRM at the best price, Brevo wins. For an all-in-one content-selling suite, GetResponse is the only one of the two that does it.

Can you sell online courses with GetResponse?

Yes, from the Creator plan up ($69/month): course creation, student management (up to 500 included), webinars and premium newsletters are included. It is the email marketing + course hosting combination that sets GetResponse apart from its direct competitors.

The bottom line

GetResponse in 2026 has become an unabashed marketing suite: no longer just an email tool, but a complete ecosystem to capture, nurture and sell, with webinars nobody else bundles. The downside is a higher entry ticket and the absence of a durable free tier.

My analyst recommendation: start from your use case, not from the most impressive feature. If your business runs on sales webinars, the 14-day trial will give you a concrete answer. If you are simply launching a profitable newsletter, my Brevo test and my Kit trial will save you several dozen dollars a month.
